State of the Merger

The state of the merger between United Way of Virginia Peninsula and United Way of Greater Williamsburg is strong. Recently, the board chairs of UWVP and UWGW held a signing ceremony, in which they officially signed the resolution documents that merge the two United Ways. The staff is in the process of merging, and we will hold our 2017/2018 campaign together. Although we have two different Day of Caring’s, we are still one United Way. Going forward, please refer to United Way of the Virginia Peninsula as the standing organization. Follow us on Facebook at United Way of the Virginia Peninsula and on Twitter and Instagram at @UnitedWayVP. We have merged the list of agencies that we fund, and their funding cycle will remain the same for the rest of the 2017 funding year. This merger is a win for the community, as it strengthens the organizations who support people in need. Join us in celebrating this change, because it is a positive change that will collectively impact the community. If you have any questions about the merger or its logistics, please contact info@uwvp.org or call 757-873-9328.
