BUILDING A STRONGER COMMUNITY, TOGETHER
Virginia Peninsula's Single-Largest Volunteer Effort
Join us on September 17, 2021
Day of Caring is our community's largest day of the year for volunteering, and is recognized as the official kickoff for United Way of the Virginia Peninsula's annual giving campaign. Day of Caring brings together hundreds of volunteers from across the Virginia Peninsula to create a positive impact on nonprofits and human service providers helping our neighbors in need. This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone who lives or works in our community to gain a deeper understanding of local needs. Registration will be available at the end of July on www.volunteerpeninsula.org where you can sign up to assist with projects such as completing yardwork for low income residents, reading to children, packing food bags for seniors, and more.
In spite of the challenges brought on by COVID-19 last year in 2020, we had over 1,700 volunteers safely complete over 70 projects across our community. Thank you to all of the volunteers, nonprofit agencies, and schools who participated - we hope you will join us again this year!
Join us this year on Friday, September 17th for Day of Caring 2021!
Prior to heading to your volunteer project for the day, Day of Caring begins with a kickoff breakfast to express our gratitude for volunteering your time and talents to benefit our local nonprofit community. We hope you will be able to join us! (More Information below)
