THANK YOU to all of the volunteers, agencies, committee members, and sponsors that participated in 2021 Day of Caring on Friday, September 17!
We appreciate you giving your time and talents to make our community a better place. We were able to successfully complete more than 45 projects on the Virginia Peninsula as a result of the kindness from over 700 volunteers.

BUILDING A STRONGER COMMUNITY, TOGETHER
The Virginia Peninsula Community's Largest Volunteer Effort of the Year!
Sign up to volunteer for a project at: www.volunteerpeninsula.org
Day of Caring is our community's largest day of the year for volunteering, and is recognized as the official kickoff for United Way of the Virginia Peninsula's annual giving campaign. Day of Caring brings together hundreds of volunteers from across the Virginia Peninsula to create a positive impact on nonprofits and human service providers helping our neighbors in need. This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone who lives or works in our community to gain a deeper understanding of local needs. Registration is available on www.volunteerpeninsula.org (for Day of Caring and for volunteer opportunities all year long) where you can sign up for projects such as completing yardwork for low income residents, reading to children, packing food bags for seniors, and more.
Prior to heading to your volunteer project for the day, Day of Caring begins with a kickoff breakfast to express our gratitude for volunteering your time and talents to benefit our community.
In spite of the continued challenges brought on by COVID-19, in 2021 we had over 700 volunteers safely complete over 45 projects across our community. Thank you to all of the volunteers and sponsors who participated - we hope you will join us again next year!

You are welcome to continue to post project needs after the given window, but we recommend posting soon to ensure you can get connected to volunteers.
