Workplace Campaigns

WORKPLACE CAMPAIGNS

Thanks to the generosity of employees in the workplace, United Way is able to help thousands of people in need in our community. Workplace campaigns are the foundation of United Way’s fund development efforts and employees who serve as our Campaign Coordinators each year are key to our success. Coordinators assume leadership responsibility for the United Way Campaign in their respective companies and bring together the necessary resources to conduct a successful campaign.

United Way strives to provide workplace campaign coordinators with the tools and skills necessary to educate employees about United Way and offer those who wish to give the opportunity to do so.

Our Coordinator Toolkit is an A-Z guide for running a successful United Way Campaign in the workplace. Other materials can help educate employees about United Way agency programs and services, and our campaign ideas help put fun and enthusiasm into workplace campaigns. Campaign incentives like our popular SmartCard, are a plus for coordinators who want to encourage increased participation and giving.

A Word About Online Campaigns

A number of local companies are now conducting their United Way Campaigns completely online. These campaigns are not managed locally by United Way of the Virginia Peninsula.

If you want to contribute to local programs and services and are unsure how to do this through your company’s online pledging system, please contact Kevin Fleming at 873-9328, Ext. 13.

Account Executives Offer Critical Assistance

For more than 20 years, the Account Executive Program (formerly known as Loaned Executives) has played a vital role in the success of United Way fundraising campaigns conducted in the workplace. Through the A.E. Program companies help augment the small United Way staff during the busy campaign months by either donating an employee or sponsoring a volunteer. This critical assistance affords us the manpower to help hundreds of companies conduct their United Way campaigns.
