Priority Areas

United Way works to create long-lasting, positive changes that not only offer assistance to those in need, but that help prevent problems from occurring in the first place.

To that end, United Way determined that there are four priority areas that provide basic components necessary to help our citizens have a healthy, self-sufficient and fulfilling life: (1) opportunities for CHILDREN AND YOUTH, which help our young people achieve their potential; (2) BASIC NEEDS that provide a "safety net" to assist individuals and families at times of personal crisis or disaster; (3) the means to improve SELF-SUFFICIENCY that helps families become financially stable and independent; and (4) the availability of COMMUNITY HEALTH and wellness care, which helps ensure the physical, mental and emotional well-being of our citizens.
