Volunteer in the Community

United Way partners with The Volunteer Center to promote volunteerism on the Virginia Peninsula by matching people who want to help with local organizations who need them.  The Volunteer Center also partners with United Way on our annual Day of Caring---an opportunity for employees in the workplace to volunteer for a single day to work on community projects throughout our local area. Whether it's painting, landscaping, building a playground, or revitalizing a neighborhood, this single day of difference is United Way's most popular annual event.

United Way wouldn't be here without volunteers. Volunteers provide governance and oversight; evaluate agency programs; make funding decisions; and play an important role in our annual fundraising campaign.
